I’m sure it was a shock to most that I'm blogging now. Let me fill you in on why I decided to set this up.
I had an interview for my dream job last week. Had I been offered the job I would have referred to it as my “big break.” The interview didn’t go well. I didn’t have many favorable answers to the questions I was being asked. However, I wasn’t mad at the outcome of the interview. Afterwards, I felt that the reason I didn’t get the job wasn’t because I’m not qualified, but because I didn’t know the particular industry this publisher was covering.
Now to why I’m sharing all of this with you and the rest of the people on the internet. I didn’t have a lot of good answers for the questions I was being asked in that interview, but there was one question I was asked that I can control. Do I have a blog? Now the next time I’m asked that question I can say yes and it’s awesome.
Now let me explain the name of my blog, The Secrets of My Success. No, I’m not being braggy. It’s a play off of the 1987 movie starring Michael J. Fox who plays a Kansas boy who graduates from Kansas State University and moves to New York City where he becomes a successful business person. I’m not saying I’m Brantley Foster, Fox’s character, but I am trying to strike it rich in the big city.
From here on out I'm hoping to share some of the more exciting and attention grabbing situations I find myself in here in Los Angeles.
